On a recent visit to London, I kept seeing the distinctly painted doors on residential terraced houses. They seemed to particularly stand out in the Kennington area and around Cleaver Square where I stayed. These bursts of color are individual expressions of the homeowners' style and taste, I would assume . The first sentence of a book I recently purchased, "The History of Color" by Neil Parkinson (2023), seems to tie into my observations. "Colour is everywhere we look, but its ubiquity means we often end up not really noticing it at all."
